    Safety valve problems and solving methods

    Detail:

    1. The disc does not return back after discharge: This is because mounting position between the stem and disc is not straight because of the spring is bent. Or, the disc is block up by something. In this case, should assemble the safety valve (relief valve) again.
    2. Leakage: Under the normal working pressure, the leakage between the disc and seat exceeds the allowable value. The reasons are:
    There are dirty matters between the disc and seat. Opening the safety valve (relief valve) by using lift lever for several times, to wash away these dirty matters.
    The sealing is damaged. According to different damage, adopting grinding or grinding after lathing repair the sealing surface.
    The stem is bent or tilted. Should assemble the stem again or replace for new stem.
    The elasticity of the spring becomes weak. Or the spring does not have elasticity. Should replace for new spring or adjust the discharge pressure again.
    3. Safety valve (relief valve) does not open on the set pressure. The reasons are:
    The set pressure is not adjusted correctly. Should adjust the spring compression or counter weight position again.
    The disc and seat are stick. Open the safety valve (relief valve) by manual to discharge gas or water termly.
    The lever of lever safety valve (relief valve) is blocked or the counter weight position of lever safety valve (relief valve) is moved. Adjusting the counter weight position again and make the lever move freely.
    4. The pressure of safety valve (relief valve) increases continuously after discharge. The reasons are:
    The discharge capacity of selected safety valve (relief valve) is smaller than the safe relief capacity of the equipment. Select proper safety valve (relief valve) again.
    The central line of the stem is not straight or the spring rusts, making the disc cannot be lifted to the required height. Assemble the stem again or replace the spring for new.
    The discharge area of the discharge pipe is not enough. Adopt the discharge pipe which meets the safe discharge area.
    5. The disc of safety valve (relief valve) jumps frequently or vibrates. The reasons are:
    The spring rate is too big. Change to new spring with proper spring rate.
    The adjusting screw is not adjusted correctly, making the re-seating pressure of safety valve (relief valve) too high. Adjust the adjusting screw again.
    The discharge resistance in the discharge pipe is too big, making the discharge back pressure too high. Reduce the discharge resistance in the discharge pipe.
    6. The safety valve (relief valve) opens on the pressure which does not reach to set pressure. The reasons are:
    The set pressure is not correct. Screw down the adjusting screw.
    The spring is aged, and the spring elasticity becomes weak. Replace for new spring.
